Pre K to SK

At Greek School GBA, our PreK, JK, and SK programs are thoughtfully designed to foster a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging environment where every child can grow and thrive. We offer a curriculum rooted in inquiry and play-based learning, encouraging our youngest learners to explore their surroundings with curiosity, confidence, and joy.

Through hands-on experiences, guided exploration, and integrated units, students are introduced to foundational concepts across subject areas in meaningful and developmentally appropriate ways. These early learning experiences help children make connections between what they learn and the world around them, building understanding and encouraging active participation.

INTERMEDIATE

Grades 7 & 8

The Intermediate Program for Grades 7 and 8 offers a rich and engaging academic experience rooted in the Greek language and culture. Using a transdisciplinary approach, we connect subjects such as language, history, geography, and cultural traditions, helping students make meaningful and lasting connections.

During these important years, students build upon their foundational skills by working with more complex vocabulary and grammar. They work to develop greater fluency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking through the study of authentic Greek texts, class discussions, and presentations. Our program also explores the evolution of the Greek language from ancient to modern times, encouraging students to appreciate its historical and global significance.

The curriculum includes an in-depth look at Greek history and geography, from mythology and ancient civilizations to modern-day events and cultural practices. Students gain a deeper understanding of the people, values, and traditions that define the Greek experience. Through projects, performances, and special events, students explore their cultural identity and heritage. These experiences allow them to celebrate national holidays, regional customs, and traditional dances, reinforcing their pride and connection to the global Greek community.

JUNIOR

Traditional Dance

At Greek School GBA, we proudly celebrate the vibrant heritage of Greek traditional dance; an art form that brings together movement, music, and poetry while cultivating a strong sense of community, identity, and belonging.

Our dance program provides students with opportunities to experience the joy, emotion, and fulfillment that come from participating in this expressive cultural tradition. Through dance, students connect with Greek values, traditions, and history, while also developing confidence, teamwork, and a sense of pride as they learn and perform alongside their peers.

As students learn traditional dances from various regions of Greece, they are introduced to the unique rhythms, movements, and stories that define each area. This regional exploration highlights the diversity of Greek folk culture and allows students to better understand how geography, history, and community life have shaped these dances over time. At the same time, students strengthen important physical skills such as coordination, rhythm, balance, and motor control in a fun and engaging way.
